Death of a beloved friend
SAD to report that the village has lost something of beauty which has been with us for many years.
The flowering cherry that sits just inside the church boundary wall by Harley Lane has died and is to be removed. Every spring this lovely tree was resplendent in pink blossom and gave such a colourful approach to the church.
It was much admired and enjoyed in its prime flowering time but Pauline Dilliway had noticed worrying signs this year that many of the branches were bare and a visit by an arborist confirmed that this long-established village friend had died.
