It's frogmarching time!
ONE of our annual Christmas highlights is the visit of the Forest Forge theatre, talented professional actors who not only play several parts, sing and play instruments but also move the scenery as well.
Their latest offering promises to be just as entertaining in the village hall on Thursday, January 4, with bags of laughter and booing and hissing (from the audience) throughout The Frog Prince, billed as “gentle storytelling and music with a dash of slapstick and buckets of honour”, starting at 7pm.
The travelling players have gone up in the world and set up shop in a castle to tell the story. Everyone wants to live in a castle, to eat fine food, sleep in the softest, comfortablest bed, even a talking frog but the spoilt princess really doesn’t want to share. She can’t see that ugliness may only be skin deep.
What castle would be complete without a flaxen-haired maiden in a tower and a prince chopping through brambles to get inside? Many characters from familiar fairytales plus a couple of lesser known gems keep the action moving while memorable songs will have you singing all the way home!
Forest Forge and Bumblefly Theatre inevitably play to a full house and tickets - selling fast - are available from Sandra Rummery (01258 840007) priced £12.
