Master Chef mourned

OUR four Lent Lunches in the village hall during February proved very popular and raised welcome funds for deserving causes – but something, or rather someone, sadly was missing.

Kathy Giles, who spent nearly 70 years of her life in All Saints, died last month in Poole Hospital aged 85 having been a leading lady in our community for so many years running the village Post Office from her home, caretaker of the village hall and social club and organising bingo sessions to name but a few of the activities she was involved in.

She regularly attended the lunches – and her pancakes for Shrove Tuesday will always remain a legend to anyone lucky enough to taste them. At the village church for her funeral service it was standing room only, a fitting tribute to Kathy who did more than most for her community.
