Peering into Gussage past

HOW did the village cope during the Second World War? Why so many vintage Bentleys motoring around our streets? Where was our village shop?

The answers to these intriguing questions and more will be revealed during Portraits of Gussage All Saints Through The Ages being staged at the village hall on the weekend of October 7 and 8 (11am-3pm).

The exhibition gives a fascinating insight to village life as seen by some of our residents who have lived here for more than 50 years – and there's plenty more on offer.

There will be guided walks through the village by residents with intimate knowledge of All Saints history while there will also be a display of maps, artefacts, photographs and documents from over the years along with stories of village life. So do come and find out more about our little corner of Dorset. Tea, coffee and cake available.

* Richard Hill invites anyone with historical information, photos or objects of our village life that could be of interest to contact him on 01258 840288.
